Mike Bittenbender is another one of the four “Mikes” at Convenience Auto South. He brings tremendous (over 30 years) experience to our shop. Mike worked at Howard Cooper (local VW dealership) and has experience working on VW as well as the exotic vehicles sold there. Mike is one of the few technicians in AA that remembers when carbureted vehicles were the norm, and mechanical fuel injection was considered ’exotic.’
When he’s not working on vehicles, Mike enjoys nature and the outdoors. He enjoys gardening, birds and other animals. Mike is also ’in charge’ of the two feral cats that live in our back lot. By the looks of things, the cats eat better than any of the humans in the neighborhood.
Mike Jeffries (we call him MJ) just loves fixing cars. He has been doing it for 30 years. His keywords are honesty and integrity. He also prides himself in being a recovering perfectionist. It's easy to see how his life-signposts line up perfectly with our shop philosophy.
MJ first started working on cars when he was 15, even before he could drive. He actually built his very first car while he was still in drivers' education. Mike is one of those people who lives the saying, do what you enjoy, and never work a day in your life...
When he’s not working on vehicles, MJ enjoys reading, yard work, wildlife, nature walks, and of course, driving his Jeep off road.
Mike Maloney was born in Ann Arbor, and has stayed close to Ann Arbor most of his life. Mike earned a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and an MBA from The University of Michigan before spending 30 years in the corporate world. He was most recently a division president at D&M Holdings, the owners of legendary Hi-Fi brands like McIntosh Labs, Boston Acoustics, Denon, and Marantz. Prior to that, Mike worked for Ford Motor Company, Visteon, and other auto suppliers, where he learned about cars from an engineer's perspective. . . Mike's experience at Ford included both hardware and software design for engine and chassis electronic controls, systems and sensors. Over the course of his extensive career, he has visited and developed personal relationships with engineers at nearly every domestic, Asian and European OEM.
Mike always wanted to own his own business, and is currently living out his dream!
Larry Mastilier is our newest service advisor, and brings over 30 years of experience in the auto repair business and motorsports. In addition to working as a technician and service advisor, Larry worked as a field service engineer for Yamaha. He also raced motocross and enduro go-carts in his youth.
As a teenager, he was fascinated by internal combustion engines, and that led to a life long avocation. Larry most enjoys helping customers solve their vehicle problems, and really appreciates the high level of skill that our technicians possess. Larry lives with his wife (and two cats) in Adrian, Michigan . He enjoys hunting, fishing, and is a perfectionist when it comes to grooming his front lawn.
