My Mazda 3 was in need of major engine repair and after "new engine" quotes and attitude from a few other shops in the area, I had a stroke of luck walking into this shop. I felt comfortable after chatting with Lou for only 2 minutes. Now my car is fixed and running like new for thousands less than the other shops wanting to just put a new engine in. I also now have my go-to garage for ALL future repairs/maintenance. These guys are professional, courteous, and not lazy. They will do the research needed to get your car repaired. This shop is a breath of fresh air in the auto repair field, don't hesitate to give them a try.

Thanks for the nice words.

Great service! If they can't fix it, they'll recommend or help you find someone who can!

Thank you.

Just purchased a 2002 subaru outback from them and have already fallen in love with the car. I want to name it already, and go on long adventures with it. They guys at the shop are gruff in the best way and everything gets done the way it should. Just a great spot to have work done, look arounds, and stumble upon a new car.

Thank you for the review. We look forward to serving you.

My husband and I tried three different mechanics before finding this place. CAS are consistently well priced, professional, and courteous regardless of which one of us takes the car in. We've taken our cars there for various things over the years and not only will they let you know what your options are, but they have sometimes recommended ways that we could fix the car problems inexpensively by ourselves. Occasionally if it's something fast and simple, such as when one of our hoses froze in the winter or when a sensor went off in error, they have fixed the problem for free. When we need some serious work done, they will shop around for parts and be able to give us various estimates so that we can pick which way we want to go with the repair. Good mechanics are hard to find but we sure have found them here! We highly recommend these guys. We have a couple of Toyotas and they have been great with them.

Thank you for trying us. We value your business.

Convenience Auto is owned by a guy named Lou. His sidekick is a guy named Bill. Most customers refer to them as "Click and Clack" which aught to tell you something about the affection people have for them. :-) I first met Lou when he was the service manager at a local Subaru dealership, so you can bet that he will be very knowledgeable about Subarus. The dealership was decent, but it was abundantly clear that the dealership was in business for themselves, not for me. Despite that, Lou always figured out a way to make sure I was treated reasonably. And when Lou left to start his own business, I took my car to his shop. My wife also has a Subaru and also loves going to Convenience Auto. That's why I can fairly answer the question about equal treatment for men and women. Convenience Auto charges me about the same price I was paying at the dealership, so they're not a "bargain basement." They don't run "specials." I go there because I trust them to do the right work and the price is reasonable for the area in which we live. No one is perfect and so I'm not surprised to find a few negative reviews. Keep in mind that shops like Convenience tend to get the older, crankier cars that people are no longer taking to the dealership. But after dealing with Lou either at the dealership or in his own shop for 12 years, I can't think of a reason I'd want to switch. The mechanics are honest. They do good work. They treat you like a human being.

Despite the boring name, this place is a gem and it's not just for Subarus! I've brought my Toyota to them for maintenance and repair over the last three years. For the maintenance check-ups, if they find a problem, they tell me if I need to fix it right away or not. Usually it can wait. For instance, at one maintenance visit, they told me my brakes would need replacing at my next visit. So when I went for my next maintenance check, I told them the brakes would need replacing. Instead of just doing it, they told me that actually the brakes were still in good shape. I feel like I can trust what they say and there's no dishonest pressure tactics. For repair, they've given me an accurate estimate. On one particularly expensive visit (I have bad car Carma), they threw something in for free. Another time, my check engine light came on after a visit and they let me come back in and read the code for free- in case they had missed something. It was something that they told me I could fix or wait to be fixed. (Don't ask me what- caskets and tubes were involved and leakage). (Yes, I am perpetuating the whole women know nothing about cars image. But really, it's not women who don't know cars, it's just me. And I could know more if I really really wanted to but why bother when there's plenty of info on google to check after the fact)As for the one bad review that says they were unfriendly etc, I have found them to be very polite and friendly. I used the shuttle service once and had a lovely conversation with the driver. Admittedly, there are limited hours to the service but many places don't even have a shuttle service!

This place is great. I have trusted them with my Subarus for 6 years now. I found out about them on the Cartalk website, under mechanic reviews. The prices are decent and they do great work. The shuttle service is really helpful.

I've been taking my Subaru to these folks for years, and every single time I am astounded by the speed and quality of their work. And maybe I just anticipate prices to be higher than they are, but I have always come away paying less than I expected. They also stand behind their work 100%. There was one time when my service engine light cam on shortly after I had some repairs done by them. I brought it back in, they hooked it up and checked the codes, and even though it turned out just to be a loose sensor wire totally unrelated and in a different area from anything they worked on, they proceeded to clean the contacts and fix the problem, and didn't charge me a dime for the additional scan and service. These folks do great work for great prices, and absolutely treat their customers right!

Thank you!
